Synopsis |
It’s approximately 20 years in the future, and the world’s last oil reserves have been exposed in the thawing Arctic, due to global warming. An unplanned and lawless town called Borealis springs up nearby, serving a growing number of entrepreneurs, troops and exiled politicians who have come north vying for their share of ‘black gold’ and a stake in the earth’s newest and last frontier. The beleaguered UN rules that because several nations claim ownership of this futuristic ‘Deadwood’, none will be recognized as having sovereign rights. The immediate result of this edict is an influx of profiteers, adventurers, would-be-lawmakers and whores. Our lead character, a Canadian, will be out front fighting for the rights of our country. Technologies of the near future will mix with the politics and morals of the past as the town of Borealis brawls its way into existence in a new and unforgiving land. |
